Photoshop on the other hand is a subscription and comes bundled with Lightroom in the Adobe Photography plan for $9.99 per month or $119.88 per year. Most users won't notice this in their day-to-day workflow, but still, Photoshop leads when it comes to features.Īffinity Photo is a low one-time payment of $69.99. Both apps offer limitless layers, can import most raw image formats, pen tools, and whatever you need. You will find that both apps include all basic image editing tools, as well as what else you can dream of from any photo editing software, as a photographer. There are a bit more features and tools in Photoshop, but only marginally.

Go to capture one and check it out in "Edit with" and "Open with." Affinity Photo appears as an option. Window Start menu > Settings > Apps > Default apps > Choose default apps by file type > scroll to your file type that you use in capture one > click on the icon to the right > Choose Affinity Photo when the Choose An App contextual window popup then you are done. You can change the file type in either the properties (right-click on the file, select Properties then change "Open with" setting or via the Window Settings. The problem with the disappearance of Affinity Photo happen after I'd had made the raw file changed. So prior to that mistake C1 showed Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher in both the "Edit with" and "Open with" via contextual menu. I had changed the file type of the sony raw file via properties and forgotten I'd did that. I'd experienced this issue as well but since resolved it. But for some panoramas it created a good result, projection-wise, apart from these dirty areas. The warp tool did not work for me very well (maybe with more experience) to improve the stitch when needed. The seams of the stitching are barely recognisable most of the time, I had one crash, no projection options, the only good thing is the brush, but the brush is absolutly needed in AP because of this bug with dirty areas in many highlight portions adjacent to high contrast edges.

Maybe Serif should not have looked too close at PS when designing this panorama wizard. On a side note, multiple images can open in Affinty when called by Edit with in C1 but these opened images are useless if you want to do a panorama or other stacking, as Affinity cannot create a panorama from already opened images, you need to call a special wizard, then open the images with a explorer dialog, not even drag and drop is possible, and then destructively stitch your panorama. Did you check the file extension default programs? In C1 20.0.2 I can Edit and Open with as it should be. I downloaded and installed Affinity Photo yesterday, it installed and registered correctly.
